St Albans Sport & Health Team

The St Albans Sport & Health Development Team is managed in partnership with 1Life and the St Albans City & District Council as part of the St Albans Leisure Management Contract. Working across the District the team deliver a vast number of Sport, Health and Physical Activity initiatives, providing opportunities for everyone in the community to become more active and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Our experienced team deliver programmes that meet local and national priorities facilitating opportunities for local community engagement from grass root participation through to sporting excellence. Programmes include delivering the St Albans District exercise referral scheme, leading on the community sports network (Active St Albans), delivering a range of Health initiatives on behalf of the St Albans health and wellbeing partnership and managing the largest charitable event in St Albans, the St Albans Half Marathon. To provide so many programmes that deliver community engagement, health & wellbeing and public health outcomes for the local authority and county council we work alongside a number of key local and national partners. These key partners include schools, community groups, leisure facilities, county sports partnership, public health, St Albans health & wellbeing partnership, local sports clubs and many more.
