Arts on Prescription offers courses in the arts for those suffering from stress, anxiety, depression and other conditions affecting mental wellbeing. Studies have shown that taking part in an arts activity has a positive influence on mental health and general wellbeing. It can increase self-confidence, reduce feelings of isolation and give those involved a sense of personal achievement.

You don’t need any experience to take part, everyone is welcome from absolute beginners to the more experienced. Courses run for nine weeks and have ranged from visual art to creative writing to theatre.  Arts on Prescription has now been running for two years and received the Mayor’s Pride Award for ‘Community Project of the Year 2018’.
